yeah. AOL has winamp, and that's a bad thing. O well, at least it hasn't fallen in to M$$'s hands...

Verizon online does the same thing, keep charging you when you've canceled, I only know this because I work for them.

I kept getting letters and pop ups from them stating that I wasn't paying for my monthly bills. They threatened to shut down my account if I didn't pay online they wanted me to. When clearly dad showed me the credit card statement for those months involved. And they were paid! Or having to max out 2 bank accounts for something you didn't buy? My friends back east did just what I was being asked to. To refresh their account info and credit card information. They were then billed a couple hundred bucks to for something they didn't order. And even worse.... They were charged for each screen name they owned on their parent account, which they owned 1 parent account and 3 sub screen names on that account. When clearly they needed to only charge the parent s/n because you get up to 10 screen names per account. When I started getting the same thing, I said "Shut it down" and never looked back.

Speaking of this, blindvi, I had a customer today that switched to us from aol do to the exact same thing.
I just brought this up because I thought that we are talking about this, and then one of our customers had this issue with aol. How ironic!

I love my ISP, but I tried AOL mail. It was so slow, that It took 10 minuts to log on. I also kept geting webmail errors. I don't recommend AOL!

Persons are bringing suit against AOL because of the difficulty of canceling. These people are trying to make it a class action lawsuit so that everyone can be reimbursed. I suggest Googleing lawsuit against AOL to find out more details.

did you know that the NFB was suing them because they did not want to make anything compatible for the blind?

Post 14 by audioadict (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Friday, 10-Aug-2007 0:08:49

I think nfb should sue AOL. When I'd log on to aol mail, the sluggishness of the site conflicted with jaws. I won't use AOL again. The up side is the sign up process was quite easy. I think AOL should be put out of business.

Also, aol messenger was quite accessible.
